Bodmin Jail, in Bodmin Cornwall is another site well wort a visit
it is Privately owned and is under going a major renovation by the owners.
All money raised from entrance fees is put back into the huge renovation project
Below is a very breif history of the jail.
Bodmin Jail was built in 1778 to house criminals from throughout the county of Cornwall.
It was the first jail known to hold inmates in individual cells
and was notorious for the public executions by hanging, which took place outside the jail until 1862.
These were extremely popular events,
attended by large crowds.
After 1862, the executions continued within the jail until 1909.
One section of the jail was used for Naval Prisoners
The atmosphere in this old Jail is filled with the presence of the past inmates, especially in the condemend cell.
There are details of past prisoners on the walls telling why they were imprisond and the punishment they received, like the 6 year old who was hung for stealing milk.
We captured numerous orbs and a strange light anomalie on our visit to the jail, several energies were also strongley felt
while walking around and sitting in the old cells.
The Jail runs its own Paranormal Investigations with there resident Pshycic & Medium they are a bit pricey at £70 per person but then all the money raised is put back into the jail restoration programe and does not go to line the pocket of some Commercial Paranormal group for full details visit there website.
You will find a video shot at the jail on the Video Menu .
