The all night vigil at the castle Inn in Newport on the Isle of Whight was our first vigil with another group so we were not too sure what to expect.

The evening started with us all meeting in the restaurant (formerly the old stable) where we were asked a few questions to establish how many of us believed in ghosts etc.

Then Chris the Medium for the evening was introduced and we went for a walk round the Inn with him telling us what he was picking up in various locations.

Then it was down to some investigating, we started with a séance in the main bar area and were getting gentle taps on the table in response to questions but I accidentally broke the circle when I saw the spirit of a Cavalier standing in the corner of the room watching us.

There was a funny incident with a small group including Hayley who had gone into the gent’s toilet with Leah the other Medium.

They were all standing in the loos with Leah calling out when an automatic air freshener went off causing them all to scream as they thought someone had breathed loudly.

There were several experiments thru the night one of them was the spreading of flour on the floor nr the cellar entrance to see if any ghostly footprints would appear, unfortunately it had been spread in front of the door that we all came out of when we explored the cellars, so the only footprints that appeared were ours.

Although a cat footprint appeared in the bowl of left over flour and there were no cats anywhere in the Inn. Another strange thing was when Anne and I heard a whistle in the restaurant about 2:30am we were the only two people in the room at the time. All in all it was quite a good night with various things happening and lots of taps during the séances.
