Tangmere Airfield (west Sussex)

Tangmere Airfield was a former RAF Base,Now all that remains is a section of runway,the Old Control Tower and the Old Mess Rooms which have been turned into an Aviation Museum.

The rest of the old base has been ploughed for farm land or turned into an Industrial Estate.

There have been numerous sightings on the site and

people have also reported hearing planes come into land when they have been walking on what is left of the runway.

I have had a couple of my own encounters here,I used to check the site for a Security Company I worked for.

The first encounter was at the Old Control Tower, I was walking towards it when I heard a noise on the roof, I looked up and saw the figure of a man in an old RAF Uniform standing on the roof looking out over the runway almost like he was waiting for the planes to come back from some mission.

And as I approached the tower I could hear talking coming from inside,it was like people talking to pilots on the radio, I knew no one could possibly be inside as the whole building is totally bricked up.

Another Encounter I had was in the Museum Buildings,I had gone into them due to an alarm activation,as I stood at the alarm panel checking the system I heard a noise behind me, as I turned to have a look I saw the same figure from the Tower Roof walk down the corridor and disapear near some double doors at the bottom of the corridor.

We have been back to the site often and allways catch something on camera another site well worth a visit.
